Choosing a plan
Browse plans by distance and level, adjust the saved choices that shape one, and inspect a proposal before anything replaces your active training.
You can browse the available plans without committing to one or changing the training already on your calendar.
The Plan Library — the catalog of shared plan shapes — is organized by race distance and level. The names you see describe what each plan does; they are not labels for you as a runner. Some distance-and-level combinations also offer different block lengths, which you choose before activation.
Browsing before you are ready
Opening the catalog does not require a current fitness evaluation or training focus, and it writes nothing to your account. Those become relevant when you ask to build or activate a plan, not when you look.
Plan cards show their intended range and shape. The mileage range helps select a suitable plan; it is not by itself a safety verdict or a promise that every request inside it will appear unchanged.
Shaping the plan you want
Your Plan Preferences — saved choices such as distance, level, run days, peak mileage, long-run day and taper length — are the standing request used the next time a plan is built. A choice you leave alone stays saved. Choosing a new distance or level selects a different plan shape, so the old plan-specific knobs do not carry across blindly.
The plan shown as active and the values shown in your saved choices can differ. That is intentional: one is what the generator actually scheduled, and the other is what you asked for. If a rule bounded the request, the explanation between them is more useful than making the two numbers look falsely identical.
Looking before committing
A Plan Preview — a proposal that has not been saved — shows the proposed weeks, the adjustments made while building them, and the differences from the active plan it would replace. It carries the comparison, not a second full copy of your current plan.
Previewing writes nothing, including your changed preferences. You can inspect the result, discuss warnings and leave without altering the active plan.
Preview and activation use the same request
Once you approve, activation rebuilds the same request you reviewed. A cancelled preview cannot leave behind a hidden settings change that shapes a later plan.
If you select the same plan shape you already use, you can adjust it while keeping completed weeks and history. Selecting a different shape starts a new plan. Your coach should name that distinction before you confirm.
Ask your coach
“Show me the plans that fit my half marathon focus.”
“Preview the balanced 10K plan before I choose it.”
“What would change if I adjusted my current plan instead of starting fresh?”
